While there have been may incidents over the past few weeks that have raised more than a few eyebrows (and worthy of their own blog post), today was one that we just cannot keep quiet about any longer.
A long time supporter has donated over 300k to the Devoted Barn. When other, well meaning followers asked about the Non Profit’s business plan and the 990’s – they were slammed as a haters, busy bodies, creating drama and a myriad of other unpleasant name calling. Shocking? NOT.
Over the last week or so, this donor appears to have seen the light and has also inquired about the Business Plan, the 990’s and how her money has been used. We were, again not shocked, but rather enraged to see how this woman has been treated by Melissa’s so called “followers” and supporters. The level to which you all stoop is really quite sad. The fact that you are all so blinded by Melissa’s Horseshit that you can’t see your nose despite your face, a mirror and flood lights shining upon it indicates the level of intelligence you all must hold when it comes to the world of rescues and non-profits. A Mule has more intellect and respect.
Let’s examine shall we? This very nice donor asked a simple question – where is the business plan?
Now – Melissa does respond –but we will address that later as we can only handle so much manure in one day. What is really interesting is what transpires after Melissa response. This is almost as fun as listening to an announcer call the Kentucky Derby:
First out of the gate we have the ever-illustrious Heather – who is one that never shies away from being just plain rude and stupid. It's not a good combination girl. But our Donor takes the patience and time to point the “why” for Heather to comprehend for a bit. Close on the hocks of Heather comes Sara who seems to have a slightly better thought process but still why the ?? and then overtakes Heather by a nose with her follow-up. (Newsflash Sara – TRANSPARENT and BUSY are 2 words that have never been and will never by synonymous with Melissa Borden).
Back to the race….. charging back into the lead is Heather – who still hasn’t learned her lesson. While Nadine tries to help – Samantha comes charging up from behind with a “I know you are but what am I” school girl attitude – yep that is really scary Samantha – way to be bold!
Not to be left in the back of the pack –here comes Lynn with the most, honest to God, Stupid question/comment of the day. Do you think you’re the racing steward or something? Seriously…. But our trusty steed Donor holds her own.
Making a last ditch effort in the race comes Sabra – and really not sure what to think as she ends with Love and Support you all I can. Really?? Who exactly is that meant for Sabra? You’re about as clear as mud at Churchill Downs.
And Down the stretch they come… with the ever flashy but dull “Ask the Board” Susan. Um Susan my dear – are you forgetting Mel is a “Board Member” and after all this is HER division of DFAS operating as Devoted Barn. It is up to HER to provide the financial information. And least we not forget Rhonda who, much like a Clydesdale or Trotter, is just really out of place in the race of insults and shenanigans. Poor Rhonda – will you ever learn? Melissa has been using these fund raisers for everything and it always changes and never with any updates or results. Sounds pretty familiar? Can you say Eagle? Tracking the donations is like trying to run after Seattle Slew on foot.
We just have one quick question for you all? When have your ever donated $300K???? Maybe you should take you own advice – unless you have then stop being a keyboard warrior. If you actually even had donated that amount (highly doubtful) then like every other large donor out there – you would have every right to inquire where and how the donations are spent – especially if those funds are earmarked for a specific use. If they are not – that is called misappropriation of funds and there can be legal implications to the Non-Profit. But Mel knows all about that doesn’t she? Can you say “Medical Building” Mel??
In case you have any doubts – We implore you to look at ANY of the rescues listed by the donor. We can guarantee that legitimate Non-Profits & Rescues are actually transparent, have current 990’s posted (not 2 years delinquent) and never have supporters who so unabashedly attack any person that asks truthful and legitimate questions. Oh, and sidenote – if you want the replay and look at the post itself – SHOCKER!!!! Of course, it has since been deleted.
The real winner here is?? NO ONE Certainly not the animals and especially not the kind heart of someone who has contributed more than any of the downright rude, selfish, horribly under educated to the proper running of a legitimate non-profit supporters of the Devoted Barn. This Donor finally seeing the light in how your treat the so called “Haters” – now that’s a blue ribbon, by the nose kind of result.
