Want to start this post by thanking the MANY people who have messaged this blog with information, photos and evidence of the many atrocities going on at Devoted Barn. It takes a village to show animal lovers the correct path that a nonprofit should take, and we appreciate each and every one of you speaking up. We want a Happily Ever After for all these lives and we know you do too.
So, the cat has been out of the bag for a while. The dog’s location has been known since they were moved. They are currently being housed at All About Pets located at 2359 E Hill Road Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439. The only person who has seemed to gaslight you into believing that the location had to be “secret” because of “haters” who would “harm” the dogs is Melissa. DO NOT BE FOOLED.
We are making this public today because we all have seen enough LIVE videos from the “secret” location where they can’t say and show things because they have to keep the dogs “safe”. That is complete BS and just a narrative that Melissa likes to use to gain sympathy and push her personal agenda. Somehow, she has seemed to convince people that we the very people fighting for the rights of these animals in her care are the enemy to these dogs.
No Melissa we LOVE animals and are sickened by your lack of care and quality of life that you have imposed on them. These “feral” dogs deserve better than what you have and are giving them. Isn’t it funny at the old barn you never saw a LIVE where these dogs were outside the barn? Not on a walk or a run, or even enjoying the sunshine and smells. Yet now you see them outside at this kennel, think about that!!
Also, the BIG question is why no inside videos?? Instead they ask volunteers to sign ridiculous NDA's, because they don't want you to know how bad it is or the volunteers to talk about what they see or worse show it. Start asking why no one has done a live on the inside of the kennel where she keeps the dogs?? Is that for safety too, absolutely not!! It is because she doesn’t want you all to see the ugly side of where she is keeping these dogs and asking you to donate $8000 per month to keep them there. Because realistically if you saw most of you probably would not donate to the cause.
It is infuriating that any person believes these dogs don’t deserve better. That somehow these dogs we see laying down and some getting belly rubs could not benefit from a home. It is impossible to believe that any person who loves animals would be okay with one dog let alone 40+ dogs living their lives in cages 23 hours a day.
Let’s do the math together: How can 40 dogs be let out at a distant location where they all get exercised?? Even if you let five groups of 8 dogs out at a time you would need close to 4 hours to let all the dogs out to give them approx. 40 minutes of yard time. Do you think people are going there 3 and 4 times a day at 4-hour intervals to let the dogs out??
Even shelters who have dogs that have been there for years put out pleas to help get a long-term resident adopted. There is no plan for these dogs, they are the bread and butter of this rescue, the sympathy cards. They bring in the big money that is used to pay this woman’s personal bills. You don’t think the IRS has a problem that she is just helping herself to donation money?? There is no spousal support, there is only donation support so keep sending those Venmo dollars because Mama has bills to pay.
Please, start listening and watching, ask yourself are you okay with a dog living its entire life in a cage with no chance at having a family. Have you noticed how overweight most of these dogs are, because they literally get no meaningful exercise for their entire prison sentence at this so called “rescue”. If lucky they get out of that cage for less than an hour a day. Do you love these dogs, then have the strength to say they deserve better and you need to start demanding they do.
Everyday on social media you see people call out dog owners for keeping dogs chained up, locked up or neglected. Do you think just because these dogs are alive that is the quality of life they deserve?? If you had a neighbor who kept a dog locked in a crate all day would you be okay with that?? If you had a friend who kept their dog in a crate in their barn 23 hours a day would you still be friends with that person??
Start asking to see the inside of the kennel, we have reason to believe from photo evidence cages are stacked and crammed into this space. Is this how you want and expect dogs to live?? These dogs are hostages and each time you make a donation you are paying their ransom, only they don’t get out of the prison you just prolong their stay.
We will end this with Honey arrived approximately May 17th going on close to 3 weeks ago. She needed emergency surgery for the cancer in her foot. According to volunteers she is being housed in the barn where the 40+ dogs used to be kept. Sounds like a safe and sterile environment for a giant open wound on her foot doesn't it?? Countless people have asked about her and she should have had the surgery by now, people donated to it. Don’t let her slip through the cracks keep asking about Honey!!
I predict Melissa will come on a LIVE saying “the vet” said this or that and Honey is doing amazing inside. That they “had to” wait or some other distraction. That dog needed surgery immediately and waiting prolongs her pain and the possibility of the cancer spreading. We have information from reliable sources that she is not scheduled to have surgery until June 7th which is three weeks after her arrival. Three weeks too long, but by all means keep handing over that money and believing the lies.
