In April 2018 Melissa made it her mission to capture some cows that of course in her expert opinion were "feral". Now, we have never seen a person encounter or label so many species of "feral" animals, but seems that is Melissa's go to term to label them. She must think it sounds good to the public that she is this feral guru, which we all know she is nothing of the sort.
Melissa managed to capture these "feral" cows naming them Thelma, Louise and their baby Norman. These girls had been on the run a while because they had escaped the original owners property who was raising beef cattle. Out on their own with no food or protection whatsoever they survived protecting their baby from coyotes and God knows what else. No doubt probably timid and afraid of humans, but not "feral".
Now, you would think that cows escaping an owner raising them to slaughter and winding up at a "sanctuary" would be a wonderful thing, but sadly for Louise that is not the case. Louise was allowed to be impregnated by her kin and then this past winter she was killed. Did anyone hear of this on any of Melissa's social media?? Wouldn't you think a person and organization that claims they are honest and transparent would share the euthanasia of Louise??
Maybe Melissa didn't share how Louise died because she made the decision to kill her. Get ready for the excuses folks...she is going to say Louise was "feral", mean and dangerous. What she won't mention is that she was a healthy cow that SHE CHOSE to rescue, she was loved by the supporters who cheered Melissa on to "save" her. When she no longer served a purpose of getting money or attention Melissa bought herself a tranquilizer gun went rogue and tranquilized Thelma, Louise and Lester (who was still intact). While Lester was sleeping he finally got castrated, while Louise was sleeping Melissa had her euthanized and buried where she died.
Poor Louise and Thelma were failed so badly by Melissa and this so called sanctuary. She let this family inbreed with each other and have baby after baby. Did you ever hear of the calves Lester and Poppy? These calfs were birthed by both Thelma and Louise and fathered by Norman. Yes the son of Louise impregnated his Mom and his Aunt!!!
Does Melissa, a feral expert, a sanctuary expert and all the other things she claims NOT have basic knowledge of animal reproduction??? Here is an important fact for her: Intact male cows will in fact mate with females!!!

As if she didn't learn her lesson from all the whoopsie babies prior ANOTHER calf was born there in December of last year!!! First Melissa claimed she was dumped at the farm, but then she must have decided that the story needed tweaking so maybe Santa dropped her off and she was a Christmas miracle...so they named her Holly.
Where did Holly come from?? Well, turns out that Thelma was impregnated yet AGAIN by her son and gave birth to Holly. Talk about an absolute catastrophe of genetic inbred cattle. Mind you no fault of their own, just wish the self proclaimed "feral" expert had some basic reproduction smarts.
They pulled Holly from her mother because her Mom still had a young calf she was nursing and they placed her in a stall where she was bottle fed. Did you see any live videos or tick tocks of Holly?? Any pictures?? Is she listed as an animal available to sponsor?? One would wonder why that is?? We know why...because how can you be a sanctuary and allow breeding of related animals OR just breeding at all?? How can you be a sanctuary and kill animals with no explanation OR the explanation you give is "Loiuse passed away she is no longer with us" while you kindof smile...just curious is the hidden smile because you know you killed her?? She passed away at your request and hands Melissa...you hunted her down with a tranquilizer gun then took her life. She didn't just "pass away" you liar!!
Why is a "sanctuary" killing animals AND adding more animals to the population out of complete negligence?? Melissa also shipped some of their offspring down to a "vegan farm" in Louisiana. Sure seems she is trying to hide things vs being transparent.
Did you also know Melsisa has had numerous tickets for the cows escaping their deteriorated fencing?? Their pasture is basically nothing more than a manure mountain surrounded by dirt so we can't blame them for seeking greener pastures. Their daily lives consists of walking around a grassless dirt prison, so much for that better life she promises.
Why would she continue to take in more animals when she can't even keep the ones she currently has properly contained?? These cows were all failed and sadly, Louise paid with her life.
It's a travesty that these animals are left with her making the decisions of their existence and that so many support this organization when it is merely a prison/death sentence for so many of them. She uses their sad stories to pay her bills, buy her daughter a horse, get attention and then asks for more. She is no animal savior folks, she is an animal opportunist...using them for all their worth. Sadly, some are worth less than others...RIP Louise.
