Let’s talk things that look like a back woods meth house OR things that resemble such. Can we please discuss this “feral” dog facility??? Do you ever wonder why there are no pictures of the inside or no live video from the inside when Melissa or volunteers are there?? Go to this live and at the 8:50 time mark and you will watch Melissa put her phone down on the ground risking it getting peed on JUST so she doesn't have to bring it inside with her. This is how badly she does not want you to see the inside and the conditions of how the dogs are kept.

Each day we live is comprised of 24 hours and allegedly there are 2 shifts at the “dog house” to take out, feed and clean up after 40 plus dogs. Which means that if lucky each dog might get out for maximum two 30-minute exercise breaks a day. That means that these dogs are STUFFED into cages for 23 HOURS A DAY!! Look at this picture below of the cage size at this dump and those are some of the big cages. Look at the inside of these kennels...it looks like a dungeon an actual prison has better standards than this.
Here is a question for all the self-proclaimed dog behaviorists, trainers and volunteers at Devoted Barn…do you think it is okay to lock a dog up for 23 hours a day in a cage of this size in this building?? Do you know many of these dogs are on drugs like Prozac and Trazadone to deal with what they are going through?? We have heard some of them are even doubled up in these small kennels...no wonder they need meds!!! These dogs don’t have dog runs and two 30-minute exercise breaks is not acceptable. You think this is rehabilitation?? You think this is rescue?? You are out of your minds!! Would you leave your personal dogs here at this facility and be fine with them locked up for 23 hours a day...you know for a fact that these dogs are using the bathroom inside these kennels and having to walk and lay in it until someone finally comes and lets them out for a few measly minutes.
These dogs are OBESE from lack of exercise…they are NOT fat and happy. This is a real health concern. The conditions of this shack are something you would see in a rural underfunded area where they gas animals. Not from a woman whose 990 filed with the IRS took in $1.2 million in 2019. Look at these giant holes and broken concrete in the outdoor “play” area where the dogs get what they call exercise. One wrong step or twist and there goes an ACL or break of a leg. Maybe this is why the rescue has an influx of ACL and ligament surgeries that are needed and fundraised for.
Have people gotten so blind that they think this is how rescue dogs should be housed and cared for?? We thought the barn with no heat, drains or AC was bad then you move them here?? Winter is coming and the likelihood of these dogs getting proper and regular exercise at this building is slim and none. Snow covering these giant holes is just a disaster waiting to happen to one of these obese dogs.
One really has to question how all of you personally live if you go to that building or go to the barn and are ok with the filth and junk piled everywhere. Most normal people would be so embarrassed to show a live video of either place. It looks like an episode of Hoarders with just crap everywhere. It is like a Holiday Inn for rats and vermon. Looks like Melissa is on her way to ruining two more locations just like that Dearborn house she lived in that was condemned from her filth.
To all the donors ask yourself why there has NEVER been a video or pictures of the INSIDE of this building. You know why!!! Because you would never give one more penny to keep these innocent animals in this dilapidated filthy prison. You see these dogs…many of them could go to a home and be worked with or even adopted. Yet she refuses to allow them to go, even threatens volunteers that they will be euthanized (she did kill Louise the cow so don't put it past her). Can you imagine how full of yourself you must be that you tell your volunteers who keep your rescue afloat that you will euthanize animals if they don't do your bidding??
Melissa has no accreditation whatsoever in dog behavior. She touts herself as a feral dog expert. Do you know this woman has told people that Soi Dog paid for her to go to Thailand to train them with feral dogs?? If that is not the most laughable thing she has ever dared to say I don’t know what is. They NEVER paid for her to go there…she went for a two week vacation and went to the facility to walk dogs like every other rescue person who goes there. To make it look good she brought some dogs home with her. The dogs she brought home mauled Wilbur the pig to death AND mauled Maria the handicapped dog to the point that she had to be euthanized (we won’t show the pictures because they are HORRIFIC).
So, Melissa this feral dog God brings home these Soi Dogs from her vacation and she is so great at rehabbing and knowing how to train and deal with their behavior she lets them maul 2 animals to death. Great Job!! She is out there spoon feeding the dogs and now spoon feeding people absolute BS about touch, training and behavior and all her cult members are taking it as gospel. These 2 animals are DEAD because she is a failure at rehabilitation and dog behavior. If you can't see that by the death of an innocent pig and a handicapped dog being mauled then just look at this "feral" dog program where no one is leaving and these dogs are living a prison sentence in a block wall kennel 23 hours a day.
This dog building is so ill equipped it is absolutely cruel to keep dogs there. Why are the volunteers who supposedly love these dogs allowing this?? There are places for these dogs to go, don’t let her lie to you and get in your heads that she is THE ONLY one that can keep them safe. Many other dog rescues and individuals would step up for these dogs if Melissa was not involved any longer. You need to keep them safe from her and away from her. Each one of these dogs is a hostage in a hoarding house of horror…if you love them or care about them how you say you do then you must speak up!!
Melissa is hanging on to these dogs as if her life depends on it and guess what it does. She lives quite the life on a $1.2 million dollar farm with no income that is filled to the gills with personal horses, her boyfriend lives there, her boyfriend's Mom lives there, a friend lives there, a farm hand lives there and she (or the rescue) just bought her daughter a new horse to compete with (baby daddy did not pay for this horse). Who do you think pays the bills for all this extravagance…YOU donors do. You pay for the countless horses that are hers (at least 10+ horses), her boyfriends horse, her daughters horses, a horse she "shares" with her veterinarian, volunteers/friends have horses/animals there...do they pay board, the hay, grain, farrier, medicine, vetting. Do you think this is claimed on taxes?? Look at the 990…not one salary, not one 1099 and not one expense is passed on to Melissa to claim for her personal animals and living expenses. She lumps them all in under the guise that “she deserves it” because she runs the rescue. The volunteers keep this ship afloat and many are starting to get really tired of Melissa and Rabid Rhonda’s demands that the volunteers need to keep the donation money coming in. You know Rhonda...Mrs. Neonate driving all around picking up cleft puppies from breeders who charge thousands for the "normal" ones. So, you are a broke rescue who BEGS for money ALL THE TIME, but you will drive hundreds of miles to go to a breeder to "save" a dog while offering no education or explanation that it isn't ok to breed these genetically challenged dogs??
There is no disputing the dogs are her Golden Goose, her claim to fame and is what brings in the comments and dollars. You need to start being their voice and look at these pictures and ask yourself if how they are living would be okay anywhere. Would you allow your dog to live in this dog facility in a block wall prison 23 hours a day?? Start calling the agencies below and demand that they do something to free these dogs that are lingering and suffering in these cages. They cannot stay like this through a cold and dark Michigan winter…it isn’t fair and is certainly not the better life they were promised. When any responsible rescuer rescues animals, they make a promise to give them a BETTER LIFE and give them what they didn’t have before... it is supposed to be a happily ever after. Nothing about this dungeon is happy and there is a not goind to be an ever anywhere else coming. The only one who has it better is Melissa and all her hangers on who are currently living off the backs and sad stories that the dog donation dollars provide.
Start to call these numbers below and demand they free these dogs from the grips of this woman. Ask them to inspect the facility, is it up to building code, are there too many dogs, are these holes/broken/missing concrete not treacherous, do the dogs have up to date vaccines, is the heating and drainage working for the winter??
To the volunteers who allow this to go on…ask yourselves would you allow your personal dogs to live here, do you think these dogs are healthy being as obese as they are, could any of them be adopted out and if so, why are they still there?? Put on your big boy and big girl pants find some courage and end this nightmare for them. It isn't fair they don't have a voice or a chance at a real life because Melissa won't allow it!!
